At some times of day, certain server regions such as EU can be much emptier than others. This request is to allow users to select a server region they’d like to play in, if they don’t want to play in their own, so they end up joining users from another region. For example, if it’s quiet in the EU region, a user might choose to join a US-based game so that there’s more players with them.
Note that playing in other regions will increase server lag (ping), leading to a potentially degraded play experience.
