Delay in mesh changing after changing .mesh property of entity

I saw this reported in the discord chat and it was suggested to log a bug but I can’t see that one was logged. It seems if you set the .mesh property to a voxelasset during normal play there is a delay before the mesh changes. If you call something such as ‘SetRotation’ straight after then the change is apparently prompted and happens right away but otherwise there can be a delay of a few seconds.
