Lets say you have a voxel mesh in your library called “Base Floor”. You’re using this voxel mesh as a kind of starting area for all floors. So when you make a new floor, you duplicate Base Floor, place it, and away you go.
The problem arises when you want to make a change to Base Floor - it’s not in the world anywhere. In order to edit Base Floor, you either have to:
- place it in the world somewhere, modify it, then delete it from the world.
- Create a template, edit the template
I’d be nice if you could edit the voxel mesh as if it were its own template. Right click → Edit Voxel Mesh → Work in an isolated editor
